SAN FRANCISCO — Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei warned Tuesday that China could use frontier artificial intelligence to develop a functional “gay bomb” before the United States, leaving Washington with no responsible option but to begin work immediately on a vastly more powerful American gay bomb.

“We have credible evidence that Chinese engineers have used advanced AI systems to investigate aerosol dispersion, pheromone chemistry, and the 1994 U.S. Air Force proposal to make enemy soldiers sexually attracted to one another,” Amodei told reporters. “If current scaling trends continue, there is a meaningful probability that by 2028 the CCP could make an entire Marine Expeditionary Unit gay in under eleven minutes.”

Amodei described the prospect as a “catastrophic misuse scenario” and stressed that Anthropic would never knowingly help an authoritarian government develop such a weapon.

He called for $60 billion in Pentagon funding to ensure “any future mass homosexualization of enemy forces will reflect democratic values.”

Anthropic researchers said the Chinese program remained primitive. According to the company’s threat report, one prototype simulation failed entirely, another merely caused soldiers to become “noticeably more supportive of each other,” and a third resulted in several infantrymen forming a highly successful community theater company.

Researchers cautioned that gay-bomb proliferation represented only one branch of a broader “AI-enabled erotic destabilization” threat landscape, which they said could eventually include weapons-grade sissy hypno, synthetic furry recruitment pipelines, and autonomous pup-play systems capable of placing entire battalions into “persistent handler-dependent states”

“One day China can barely make a platoon curious. Eighteen months later they have autonomous agentic systems turning the entire Seventh Fleet into bears.”

Asked whether developing more powerful AI systems expressly because those systems might enable catastrophic weapons development represented any kind of contradiction, Amodei rejected the premise.

“The dangerous thing is not building the gay bomb,” he said. “The dangerous thing is losing the gay-bomb race.”
