I'm Focusing on Agentic AI and Vibe Coding","author":"recursive_friday","body":"
I think it's genuinely embarrassing how much time people spend thinking about sex when they could be learning about agentic AI and vibe coding. Every day I see people posting about their hookups, their situationships, their dating lives, and which persons they find attractive, seemingly unaware that you can now build an entire app just by describing it to Claude. Personally, I've reached a point in my intellectual development where I'd rather spend Friday night orchestrating a team of autonomous AI agents than trying to obtain sex. Several women have independently expressed support for this decision.
\n
The obsession with sex is one of the clearest symptoms of a society that hasn't fully grasped the implications of artificial general intelligence. People are constantly trying to do kissing, get naked, and have orgasm, even though we're probably less than eighteen months away from recursive self-improvement. I've been trying to explain this to my friends, who continue to go on dates despite having access to the exact same Andrej Karpathy tweets that I do. At some point, ignorance becomes a choice.
\n
I used to participate in this culture myself. I would go to parties, attempt flirting, and occasionally spend an entire evening talking to a woman who ultimately claimed to have a boyfriend already. Looking back, I feel disgusted by how much energy I devoted to these fundamentally unscalable pursuits. I could have spent those hours learning about agentic workflows, which I've recently discovered allow an AI to perform multiple tasks autonomously without requiring a new prompt every time. This is a very significant advancement for the future of intelligence.
\n
I've also begun questioning why we're expected to take shower every day, wear deodorant, or brush our teeth simply because other people find the alternative unpleasant. These are precisely the kinds of repetitive, low-value maintenance tasks that the agentic AI revolution is supposed to eliminate. My roommate has repeatedly complained about the smell situation in my bedroom, which I find especially revealing. Apparently, people are excited about the future of autonomous agents until an actual early adopter starts optimizing his personal hygiene workflow. I've already instructed Claude to develop a solution and expect to have a working prototype shortly.
\n
I have also begun reconsidering the entire concept of being attractive. Why should I have to get a haircut, purchase appropriate clothing, or develop a personality merely to satisfy the demands of the sexual marketplace? These are legacy requirements from pre-AGI society. I've recently begun using AI to generate my dating app messages, and I see no reason to personally participate in conversations that can be handled by a sufficiently sophisticated LLM. One woman accused me of being emotionally unavailable after I accidentally sent her the entire system prompt. Frankly, I think it's extremely telling that she chose to focus on this instead of the extraordinary progress being made in multi-agent orchestration.
\n
This extends to basic social etiquette. I've stopped saying thank you to service workers because I don't believe human beings should be spending valuable cognitive bandwidth on interactions that could eventually be automated. Similarly, when someone says good morning, I generally decline to respond. Why should I engage in a synchronous social interaction that provides no measurable improvement in my development velocity? My coworkers have described this as making me difficult to be around, which demonstrates how deeply entrenched legacy thinking remains even among otherwise intelligent persons.
\n
Some people have suggested that my sudden interest in agentic AI and vibe coding is related to my lack of success in the sex department. This is an extremely reductive, frankly non-agentic interpretation of my work. Sam Altman himself is married, which demonstrates that artificial intelligence has historically been very inclusive of people who are able to obtain sex. I simply believe that our present technological conditions require a different set of priorities regarding the intelligence explosion.
\n
I've started encouraging my friends to redirect the time they spend on dating apps toward building AI-powered products. So far, I've subscribed to six frontier AI services, established a Discord server for discussing agentic AI and vibe coding, and launched three startups, two of which are currently being rebuilt from scratch after Claude accidentally deleted their databases. My flagship product is an AI-powered productivity assistant that autonomously creates tasks for other AI agents to complete. I currently have 47 agents working in parallel, although I'm still trying to determine the exact nature of the tasks they should be doing.
\n
Meanwhile, my friend Connor has spent the past six months in a romantic relationship with a woman who regularly tells him she loves him. During that same period, I've generated over 400,000 lines of code, consumed $2,800 in API credits, and developed a proprietary framework for using Claude to tell Cursor what to ask Claude. I genuinely cannot imagine a less productive allocation of his limited human capital. Connor has also informed me that he does not consider his relationship to be a productivity activity, which I think demonstrates the fundamental difference in our respective mindsets toward building.
\n
History will ultimately judge which of us made the greater contribution to humanity and the future of artificial intelligence. While everybody else was out having sex and experiencing orgasm, I was studying agentic AI and vibe coding, and when the singularity arrives, I think people are going to feel pretty stupid about how much kissing they did.
\n","excerpt":"I think it's genuinely embarrassing how much time people spend thinking about sex when they could be learning about agentic AI and vibe coding.
